The first line really spoke to me. You?
I think now, more than ever, women need to stand up and be proud of their bodies, all bodies, and love them without conditions… and let it be known. (and, simultaneously, we need to let it be “okay” for women to be confident about their bodies. All too often, when women (including me) are happy in their own skins, others shut them down. Confidence is not arrogance. She loving she shouldn’t be a bad thing. Modesty is overrated: we need screams, not whispers, ya know? Be loud, be proud, and don’t let others dull your shine.)

this is so true. my sister has always been a skinny twig even after her first two kids, but once she had twins she couldn’t (it didn’t automatically happen and she didn’t really try to) get back down to her normal size. she’ll always say to us or her husband ‘oh i’m so fat’ but she says it in front of her daughters. now sometimes i’ll see them rubbing their belly’s and grabbing the SKIN on their stomach saying look at this i’m fat too! and its absolutely awful. and i know my sister doesn’t realize what she’s doing and how badly she could be affecting her kids body image, but she is. and i’ve tried to tell her that, and if she catches herself doing it she’ll stop herself but she doesn’t always. i’m afraid their way of thinking has already been corrupted. sure, i can tell them they’re beautiful and try to change their way of thinking, but unless my sister changes, i can’t help them. and i don’t want them to grow up their entire lives worrying about their body. it’s so sad. more people should read this and do like Kate Winslet!

AMEN!

I don’t usually lean toward athletic photos but her body is perfectly toned! Not too muscular.
